The desk

The desk is Canonex’s GM screen. What you are looking at is your working area, and the rest of the campaign is one keystroke away.

Summon

Press Ctrl + K from anywhere and start typing. Choose a record and it lands on the desk as a card. You can also use Place on Workspace from any record’s sheet.

Arrange

• Pan and zoom freely. A minimap shows where everything is.
• Resize, collapse and expand cards without leaving the desk.
• Pin a card to the edge of the view so it stays put while you pan, or lock it against accidental moves.
• Turn on snap to grid and avoid overlaps for tidy layouts.
• Ctrl + Z undoes, and Ctrl + Y redoes.

Connect

Drop two tied records near each other and the tie between them appears, labelled with its type. Records with no tie stay quiet, so the desk only shows the connections that exist.

Layouts

Save the current arrangement as a named layout, such as the tavern scene or the boss fight, and switch between layouts in an instant. Prefabs are layouts you can reuse in any session.

Reference cards and notes

• Paste a web address onto the desk with Ctrl + V to make a reference card. Web pages and PDFs open inside the card.
• Double-click a note to edit it in place.
• Add a clock from the GM bar to track progress.

Player view

A separate player view window shows only what you choose to share: a portrait, a handout, a map or a read-aloud. It never shows your desk or your notes, and you can blank it at any time.
